Greg, now you know that is just plain silly. I can't see how just a few
people being able to fly their Ercoupe is more important than THOUSANDS
being able to see and touch one in a museum. Most folks keep their
Ercoupe
locked up in a hangar these days, it seems. Many are flown rarely. I
would expect that a single Ercoupe on display in a halfway decent museum
(preferably in a hands-on exhibit, not hanging 50 feet up on the ceiling)
would be seen by, at least, several times, probably dozens, maybe HUNDREDS
of times as many people as who get to ride in an Ercoupe in a year. That
is
why I always try to take anybody who comes along up in mine when it is
running properly. From fellow pilots to the guy who delivers to the snack
machine in the terminal, they are always glad just to look up close - not
to
mention when I offer them a free ride. Besides, I think there are people
on
here who can actually afford to buy new parts from Univair, if you can
imagine it! Glen Ward
