Hi Greg, Mine is the same way with the bushing which looks like a stop
behind the yoke.  Let me know how it turns out as I may want to replace
mine
sometime.  You made the right decision in getting the stock ones!   The
rams-horn ones that people think are so damn cool sometimes stick back
further than the originals, making it feel like it is right in your belly
when you are flying.  The also are harder to steer with in the cramped
Ercoupe cockpit.  Same effect with having too much stuffing in your seats!
