Glenn,
I understand that your fix was a temporary (I hope) measure.  Being an
electronic
technician working on RF communications and radar, that sent cold chills
up my
spine.  In electronic terms, that's just about the most grevious sin one
can
commit.  Not only is it mechanically unsound, but it creates a very large
mis-match
to the radio; not good.  Glad you found the problem, though.
