Coupers; I could not remember the markings on our EGT gauge, so I double
checked them today. It is one of those sensitive ones that only registers
between 1200 and 1700 degrees with each division being 25 degrees. Normal
readings, with a single probe in the RH exhaust stack between #1 cylinder
and
the muffler, are cruise @ 1375 to 1400. Peak is about 1475, but I start to

loose RPM above 1460. I set the pointer at 1425, and do not run with temps

above that. Leaning the EGT to 1375, allows for changes when the RPM goes
up
or down as I maintain altitude in the thermals. Obviously, the EGT goes up

when the RPM goes up.
We have a Marvel carburetor on the O200, and it does not require a lot of
movement of the mixture control.
