Coupers; Another gorgeous day for flying. It was 63 degrees, with 23%
humidity
and a visibility of over 50 miles. We took off about 7AM and headed for
P14
(Holbrook AZ). It took us 40 minutes to climb to 11,500 ft. where the temp

was 47 degrees and the density altitude was 13,300 ft.with a barometer of
32.06 inches. The Coupe purred along @ 2700 rpm indicating 90 mph. There
were
just a few bumps (light chop) as we passed over the highest terrain, and
started a gradual descent into Holbrook. We got no answer on the unicom,
but
after we landed, we were informed that there was no longer any rental cars

available there. They were down to less than 90 gallons of 100LL, so we
took
on 10 galons and headed for Winslow. We landed there about 9AM and were
able
to get a rental car. We gained an hour though because AZ is not on
daylight
time. The trip meter is now up to 2400 miles and 26 hours in the air. I
checked the oil again this morning, and it was down to about 5 1/2 quarts.

The engine has 39 hours since the cylinder redo and is running great.
So off to the painted desert and the Petrified Forest National Park.
Yesterday, we looked back 800 years, while today we looked back millions
of
years. Quite a difference, but we enjoyed it just the same.
At 2PM, it was pool time, so our headquarters shifted to the Best Western.

Keep em flying coupers, tomorrow we hope to see the Grand Canyon .
