Coupers; We had another beautiful flying day today. Take off out of
Winslow was about 0615AM. We flew at 8500 feet up northwest to the Grand
Canyon and landed at GCN about 0715. I know that most of you have probably

seen the canyon, but it is absolutely breathtaking seeing it again. The 10

year old wanted to go down to the bottom and take one of the rafting trips

down the Colorado River! We left there about 1000 AM and continued on to
Jean, NV. Dick Chevalier told me about the hotel/ casino at the airport.
The
fuel price is less also, so in addition to getting a room for $15.95 we
saved
all around. I talked by phone to a few fellow Coupers in the Las Vegas
area.
Manual Martin (N5612F), Max Doubrawa, who recently sold his 415G,
Ross Oglesbee (N99485), and John Daugherty (N99711). They all seemed to be
a
great bunch.
The visibility was only about 50 miles today due to smoke from those
forest
fires, and as we got near Nevada, we could see the brownish tinge in the
air
from the Las Vegas metropolis. Visibility there was down to about 25 or 30

miles.
Tomorrow we hope to stop in Death Valley on our way to San Diego.
