Seems the going rate. Quakertown Avionics charges $30, but
they're real nice guys.

Eh? Both have to be accurate, but they are independent. The encoder
gives pressure altitude only.

The guy at UKT looked at my altimeter, observed that it was off by about
50 feet and said 'want me to fix that real quick while I'm waiting for
this
encoder to warm up?' And he took out his shirt-pocket screwdriver and
fixed it.

Quakertown Avionics tends to make customers for life :-)
