Do any of you guys have an FCC Radiotelephone Operators License? Perhaps you can answer a question. Years ago I had a FCC 1st Class Phone with Radar endorsement. Upon renewal it was downgraded to a "General" (I think) Radiotelephone License. Around this time the FCC stopped requiring renewal, I changed jobs and tossed the license in a drawer.
Well now that I'm flying again, I need at least a restricted radiotelephone if I want to fly to Canada. However I cannot find the license. Is there some place in the vast FCC bureaucracy where a record of Radio- telephone Operator licenses are kept? I originally took the tests in Seattle many years ago and faithfully renewed the license up to the point where I was told the renewal requirement was dropped. I have found nothing on their Web page. I guess that to fly to Canada I will need the operators license, a station license, and 6 inch N numbers.
