The W&B on My Alon is 975.3 lbs empty with a 25.32 arm and 24691.5 moment.

This leaves me 474.7 useful load. Two adults + baggage. That is usually
the 
load, and I still get over 650 fpm on the climb. I have had that load 
taking off from 4000 MSL in Eastern Oregon on a day in the high 80's. 
That's not too shabby for a 2 place airplane.
