Coupers; College Park at last! We had a beautiful AM to fly, clear, low 50's and a 15 mph tailwind. We lifted off about 20 minutes to 8 AM and landed 2 hours later. There were only about 10 coupes there when we landed, but by tonight I think there are over 40. What a wonderful sight. It is great to see old friends and make new ones. We got to listen to Bestsy Weick reminiscing about growing up with Fred, as well as attending a picture session showing
many of the modifications that have occurred to the Coupes over the years. Joel surprised me by saying that he thought the best part about today was landing here and finding out that he was a sort-of celebrity. The trip meter shows that we flew just over 7730 miles in 78 hours and 39 minutes which computes to a ground speed of just over 98 mph. We are excited about enjoying the next two days with fellow Coupers touring the original factory site and seeing # 1 Ercoupe. The seminars and fellowship will just add to the sweetness of the affair. Wish you all were here.
