As one of probably many people "lurking" on this discussion group, I don't
feel that I have enough knowledge to either ask intelligent questions, or contribute to the discussions. However, I have developed a keen interest in the Ercoupe, and am considering maybe taking the plunge this fall. Thanks to you guys and other Ercoupe web pages, I have gotten a pretty good feel for the character of the aircraft and most of its good/bad points. My nest step is to find an opportunity to take a ride. I do have several questions/observations in no particular order. 1) I followed Lynn's progress around the country over the last month. I'm confused, however about how he was able to fit 3 people and baggage into a 'Coupe. Was there a back seat option or STC? 2) Concerning the insurance issue. I talked to Avemco, and was told that to insure me (Pvt,VFR,SEL,<100 hrs) it would cost in the range of $1100. Seemed a little steep to me, but I have nothing to compare it to. Does the EOC have an agent/company that they endorse that might give members a discount? I think that several of the other type clubs have some sort of agreement with agencies that offer a preferred rate. 3) I have seen several posts by owners looking for parts (Fuel tanks, mufflers, etc.) Barnstormers.com currently has a listing of several parts/aircraft. (Select Antique-classics in the left column, then select Ercoupe in the left column) 4) Does anyone have a 'Coupe that they need to have "watched" while they go on vacation this summer? (You can't blame a guy for trying) 5) I need the current address and fee for the EOC. Thanks, I remain Envious and on the ground Larry Ragan Jacksonville, Fl.
