----[Please read http://ercoupers.com/disclaimer.htm before following any advice in this forum.]---- When I purchased 93405, it had an "owner" overhauled engine with about 275 hours on her. I really agonized over the purchase. I didn't know the person selling the plane, and had a hard time trusting the overhaul. I finally decided that an engine with 275 hours on her would have blown already if it hadn't been done properly. It runs like a top, has 35-40 lb. oil pressure, and the compression is really good. I believe it's as sound as any out there. I have all of the receipts on parts and outside work. It doesn't look as though he skimped at all. So, overhaul if you want to, you'll get just as good a job as you are capable of doing. But, be prepared for skepticism when you try and sell it.
