 Lynn, I should have looked it up.  I was off by 1". You are right, the
numbers can be as small as 2" rather than the 3" I mentioned.  However, I
am
right on the "ROMAN FACE" lettering.  A Roman face is one that has a
"serif"
on the ends.  A "Sans Serif" (Sans comes from the Latin word meaning "no")
type is one that is a straight line type and has no serif.  This is an
obvious FAA error, written by someone who has no knowledge of type styles.

However, since the FAA is GOD, and you lettered your airplane (as everyone
has done since the begining of regristration) with a Sans Serif style, you
would be wrong! I will admit that I have never seen an airplane lettered
in
a Roman face.
