I echo Craig's sentiment.  I would LOVE to get your coupe, or would be 
happy to be your "license" to make flights legal by having me on board
(too 
bad I don't live closer).  However, you should not give up on the idea of 
getting your medical back.  This is where the AOPA and your local AME can 
help get your paperwork in order to get your medical back in a timely 
fashion.  I wouldn't plan on a current medical right away, but you can 
start collecting all the data you need to send off in a package to the
FAA.  
Post-M.I. patients can get their medicals back.  Don't give up the ship!
