Bill, I have had stuck valves twice (415C w/ C85-12F). Once coming back from OSH in Albany in 1992 and once at a flyin at ORE in the summer of 1995 or 96. I now carry a plug wrench and a lenght of rope in my Coupe all the time.
I try to burn 80 Oct as much as I can (about 60% of the time) and always use TCP with 100 Oct but I still had the two stuck valves far from home. Since the second time I have added MMO to my fuel and used AvBlend with every oil change. I also have not had a stuck valve since. Unfortunately a sample of one does not prove anything. However I operate under the "it can't hurt" therory and will continue using both until I get another stuck valve.
