My metal window pieces have a clamp that locks the windows together.
Doesn't yours?

When I want better ventilation (most of the year), I tie an old shoe
string (about 15") from the left to the right side which holds the
windows together with about a six inch gap. This allows the cabin air to
give me a pretty cooling blast without the extra noise and turbulent
airflow of fully open cockpit flying.

For local fun flying, it's hard to beat fully open cockpit. For cross
country, the six inch gap works pretty well for me.
