Hi Paul,
I'll throw my opinion in for you to consider....I have a mixtue of
both
Camloc and Dzus on my cowling.
I personally like the Dzus a lot better (the type that has the
slot in
the head, not the raisied winghead type) and here's my reason:
It seems like I have more trouble lining up the Camloc type because of
the sloppness in the fit between male and female connectors. They don't
seem to be worn exccesively or damaged, just fit 'loose'. On the other
hand, the Dzus seem to fit more snugly and are easier to align and turn.
The reason I mentioned above that I prefer the slotted head as opposed
to the Winged head is sleeker look and 'flush' fit, where as the winged
type stick out to disturb the smooth airflow, catch on a rag (or sleeve)
while wiping down the cowl, and just look bad in general.
If you have the current "Wicks Aircraft Supply" catalog handy look
at
the pictures on pages 140-143. Eventually I plan on changing my coupe
over to the Dzus on the top left corrner of page 140, they look sharp
(stainless steel) and IMHO work better and easier.
Anything that works well and keeps the cowl from flapping is good,
from
there on it's mostly personal oppinion.
