According to Continental, average consumption is 1/5 pint per hour (10 hours/quart). Maximum is 0.75 lb/hour. (between 2 and 3 hours/qt. Oil that leaks or is blown out doesn't count (and you don't want any, right?). If there's oil on the belly and it's not from a leak, there must be too much pressure in the crank case. This can come from a leaking front seal which allows ram air into the front of the case, or from combustion gasses blowing by the rings. John
