Gang, we removed the Cessna oil filter adapter and the AP found it to be in excellent condition. It appeared to not have been properly installed (the nut was not snugged down to the proper 50-60 lb.). It worked well for 10 years, but finally loosened up. It never did leak.
So now there is torque seal on it per the AD, and everything is properly inspected per the AD and logged. I will cut the filter every time from now on, and glance at the torque seal during preflight. We possibly could have avoided loosening up the right mag, but chose to move it aside to facilitate getting in with torque wrench and fingers. Thanks for everyone's input!
