It is mechanically much stronger than lead/tin solder. Use (plenty of) regular plumbing flux. You'll need an acetylene torch. Propane is not hot enough. (Oxyacetylene is too hot, use a plumber's air-acetylene torch). Once you get the hang of this you can replace the wires for your carb heat, starter, etc too.
