I am a big chicken when it comes to mountain flying but I have flown by
Taos
many times from where I live in Colorado Springs. I fly down to
Walsenburg
Colorado, turn west and cross Laveta pass. this is not very high and it
is
very short just a quick trip across a ridge then you are back over flat
ground again and then just follow the valley down to Taos. This would be
a
lot shorter from KS than flying around the south end of the mountain
range
by Albequerque I suspect.
