I sealed my entire baffling with Cessna baffle material- the thick
stuff. Its bomber now- very airtight. This helped tremendously with

my cooling (flying in the high desert.) What also helped *a lot*
(probably more than the new seals) was to seal the intake. You gotta

keep the lower cowl at a lower pressure than the upper to draw air
down through the cylinders and any gaps you have down there make a
     difference.

     Subject: engine baffling

Gang, I'd like to ask those with Erco birds what their engine
baffling
     is
like. I have felt across the vertical piece behind the engine, and
     rubber on
the sides. Has anyone improved on the felt, or is it still the best
     way to
go? I have thought about going to rubber all the way around. Is the
     top cowl
piece somewhat "supported" by the thick felt piece between it and the
     vertical baffle behind the engine?

Also, did we ever decide if it's important for the air intake hole on

     the
Kenny Super-Bowl to seal around the carb air intake? The carb intake
     already
seems to have a "horn" shape to grab air.

     Thanks!
