If the housing goes from the tail to the front of the plane, it's no big
deal.
We've done it a few times.
A a couple of times over the last 20 years we've just pulled out the wire
and
inserted it again through an oily rag for lubrication. The last time, we
replaced the thinner wire with a thicker one which has done better.

One Couper I know says he just has a cable housing for the rear and front
of the
cable and the middle is just bare wire. he thinks he'll have a lot more
trouble
replacing the cable. I'm hoping he's wrong about the arrangement -- how
can you
have a push/pull cable with no housing to keep the pushed cable from just
bending?
