Hi Jim,
The name escapes me right now, but the "mouse bait" that comes in
the
little yellow wedge shaped boxes is what I'm talking about.
I keep two or three of them around my hangar where I suspect the
mice
could get in. I also have a mouse trap (with a piece of walnut on them
for bait) beside each tire. (Attached to a string and a weight so they
can't be dragged away in case a mouse isn't dead when he's caught in the
trap.) I don't have any trouble with mice getting up into the plane.
However, a friend of mine who has a Piper "Super Cruiser" in one
of the
hangars at Walker found (a few years ago) a nest with four tiny pink
mice with their eyes still closed in his plane.
He now uses the same method I use and as far as I know he has had
no
further problems. He also has a '29 Fleet in the same hangar and he has
mouse traps by each wheel of each plane. No problems in a long time.
