I got a wonderful demonstration of the kind of folks who fly coupes this evening. Joa, from Redmond, Oregon took me on my first coupe flight. The little 1950 coupe jumped off the runway at Redmond, despite the load. Joa is a handsome, tall young fellow. I am the jealous, scrawny old fart!.It was spectacular. We flew west over the Oregon high desert toward the Cascade range. There are ten mountains of 9,000 ft or better that are visible from this area. We flew over sights which are familiar from the group, but always look better from the air. The coupe never missed a beat. And is she fun to fly. Very responsive, even for a C-85. Excellent visibility. Chasing thru the pattern at Bend, Joa showed me how to "slip-a-coupe". What a Blast. Well, thanks Joa. And thanks to the coupe, too. George M.S. "Syd" Putnam Bend, Oregon. . .. . . . . .at this rate I may be visiting the coupe store soon!
