In reply to Greg's desire to put the Ercoupe back in production with all
the best features is great. I have long wished someone other than
Univair had the type certificate and would put the Ercoupe back into
production. It could use the Lycoming or the 100 hp Franklin from
Poland. It could be sold in finish/assemble it yourself kits. In kits,
it could come with the fabric covered wing, which is superior for a whole
bunch of reasons. It could have a modern panel layout, the best fuel
tank arrangement, large baggage compartment, twin tails, more. It is
the most modern and safest design ever; first tri-gear, semi monocoupe
fuselage, truss ribbed fabric covered wings. It will easily lend itself
to kit form, assemble it yourself. The fuselage could come with the
controls, already installed to eliminate the buyer from having to
struggle with that and for saftey reasons. I wish someone could buy
the rights from Univair so it could be put back into production, twin
tails and all. It is a better design than all those kits that are out
there now. If we can take them apart and put them together as we do, we
surely could assemble them from kits.
