I have no zerk fittings on my MLG. I just applied a
liberal amount of white lithium grease to inside of the bushings and to the
outside of the knee pins before installation. I also applied the lithium grease
to the bakelite washers and inside surfaces of the gear legs. I agree it would
be nice if we had a way to perodically lubricate these joints. I think it would
behoove us all to remove the knee pins at least on an annual basis and
relubricate everything. It is not a difficult job to do unless the pins are dry
and rusted as mine were. It took considerable force to drive them out. Just make
sure you do not damage the threads on the pins. I was lucky enough to have a
friend make me a drift pin out of aluminum round stock that inserted into the
end of the pin to drive them out.
