Nice to see some one after my own hart...

My coupe came with a peddle kit that had been removed.. and I have it is a box.. if I should ever want to sell the coupe
it adds about $900 to the sale price.... I am sure like my the new owner will want to add them soon as possable... and
after a few landings, forget about them.....

Is the fitting of the Univair rudder pedal mechanism in an older 'Coupe a complex (and expensive) process? Is it worth it? (This should set off a spirited discussion). Many thanks, Craig Roberts Boston, MA

Not a real airplane without rudder pedals. Wouldn't
have one any other way. Every coupe should have them.
You can make better turns, slip on landing and talk
about xwind landings (20 knots with not trouble).

Since they are so great, I will part with the
extra set I've got. I'll let them go for the right
price - and it is a premium set of pedals. All
coupes should have these. <g>.

The conversion is easy:
1- Take out the foot board.
2- Drill two holes in the spar (small holes,
don't get carried away).
3- Install some pulleys on the spar for the cables.
4- Drill two holes in the seat tray area (insert nylon
bushings).
5- Disconnect the rudder control cables from the bell crank.
6- Put the rudder pedal foot boards, springs and control
cables in.
7- Connect the pedal cables to the rudder cables.
8- Some have covers over the pedal cables as they pass
over the floor. If you have this, don't have big feet.
9- Connect the brake pedal to the rudder pedal bar (you
don't get toe brakes - it is still just one pedal).
10-Rig.
11-Do all the necessary paper work. Your weight will
increase.
12-You are done.

Go fly. Now you can slip like a Cessna.

Seen some with a set of wooden blocks
on the cables to maintain proper separation,
about 12" behind the bell crank area.

You don't need to cut any cables - and DON'T
cut any cables. You will need these when
you take the pedals out after deciding you've
wasted $900 plus labor.

IMHO - If you have em, keep em. If not, the
$900+ is better spent on more pressing items.

Put if you really want them, I've got a set.
I will include the flap mods. No Cessna is
complete without em.
