Leslie, We have just scattered ashes from our alon. We made several test runs and nothing we did seemed to be what we was looking for from the vacuum hose attached with extention arm ... to just turning them loose we used flour, for our testing.
One of the crop dusters from the airport hear turned us on to how to do it from the alon.. We took a paper sack drop the ashes into it. flying with him, my husband.. with canopy open, the plane speed slowed down, the other pilot then extended the bag as far out as he could, arm level down.... when he released the bag...it dropped behind the wing. it broke when it hit the target and the ashes scattered.
