There is no opening restriction on our M-10, which (I think) has the 
same canopy, but you better make sure the track hardware is in good shape
or it might come off.  Opening it about 4" causes the airstream to
push it down, not up, so that might be where the 4" comes from.
Airspeed restriction is 100 mph.
