I guess that I confused a few folks last week with my comments about
perhaps selling our plane. We've decided to put it up for sale. Here are
the details, subject to examining the logs and records:
1946 415-D
280 SMOH, 1400TT
Extensive annuals in 1998 and 1999. Last annual done in March, 99.
Valcom 760 tso'd, Terra Mode C transponder. Panel mounted intercom. EGT,
Carb air temperature. Brackett air filter, oil filter.
Push to talk in left side control wheel, vertical compass, Cleveland
brakes, large baggage compartment. Canopy cover (new). Tow bar. Cigar
lighter for a handheld radio or GPS.
Wings recovered in Ceconite in 1991, after thorough inspection and repair,
including zinc chromating of all internal components.
During the annuals in 98 and 99, the following were replaced with new
items: dual nose fork, brake pads, landing gear donuts, battery, some
control cables and fittings, left vertical fin, side windows, numerous
engine gaskets, new recording tach. Fuel pump repaired. One cylinder
overhauled due to crack in exhaust port. Great compression in all
cylinders. Mags overhauled in 1997 right before we bought it.
A/C is white with red trim. Bluish interior. P&I both in good condition.
Everything works. Good tires. Old loran removed, since we use a portable
GPS, but we still have the loran unit. Aircraft was actually weighed in
1999, so all W&B data is accurate.
No expense has been spared in maintaining this bird. Due to changing
family situations (kid going away to college), I need a 4 place plane, so
the Coupe is for sale. We're asking $15,500. E-mail me or call
614-229-4574 during the day EDT, or at 740-881-4188 evenings and weekends.
Aircraft is hangared at Delaware, Ohio (DLZ), near Columbus.
