So many of you all responded to my comment that our D model may be for
sale that I thought it easier to respond at once, rather than composing
several e-mails. I don't have the logs handy here at work, so here's what
I remember, all subject to examining the logs and records:
1946 D model, C-85 engine. About 280 SMOH, about 1400 TT. When we bought
it in Jan. 1998, we did an extensive annual. New dual nose fork, new left
side vertical stab. which still needs final color coat of paint. Is
overall white with red trim.
Wings redone in 1991 or 92, all zinc chromated inside, with a super fabric
job in ceconite. Good paint and interior.
In 1998 and 99, we put in new gear donuts, new brake linings, new battery,
new side windows. Windshield could be replaced next year, some hazing at
edges.
This year we tackled the oil leaks. New front seal, many new gaskets, and
the leaks are now almost all gone. New gas caps to eliminate fuel
siphoning that we inherited.
This year we had a cylinder re-done since there was a crack at the exhaust
port. Not a new one, but overhauled and new valve guides installed.
Has EGT for what that's worth on a C-85, electric turn coordinator. Two
place intercom that works great. Valcom 760, and a Terra Mode C txpnder
which is currently out of certification. Good tires.
That's about all that I can think of off hand. Call me at 614-229-4574 to
discuss. Thanks.
