Jerry, I might be looking for a second Coupe for the two boys that I
brought to Oshkosh this year. They are nuts about getting their
instruction in their own Coupe, and I told them I would finance one for
them. Probably pipe dreams on their part, but I want to encourage them as
much as I can. Write me when you decide on a price.

By the way, the Northern Lights team was fantastic. They finished the
air show most days. They announced they will have Extra 260's next year
and also a fleet of Albatross jets, so some days they will do a piston air
show and some days a jet air show. Can't wait. This year there was the
Oracle Raven, a turboprop that looked similar to an Extra, which could
literally hang by it's prop and then climb vertically from that spot, and
Jimmy Franklin had a WACO
biplane that he fitted with a Learjet engine between the main landing gear
in addition to it's radial engine. He would cut the jet in whenever he
was starting to climb, and boy, could he climb! Kind of stupid, but fun
to watch. See you next year.

weather - beastly until Sun. I always drive, because I do business there,
and stay some distance away from OSH at Green Lake, WI where our little
clan of annual cigar smokers and brandy drinkers congregates.

whether the weather and the new admission policy contributed how much to
the decline.

my opinion, a great lack of military participation. Only an F-15 and a
Harrier took part in aerial demos. I, for one, along with a couple of
people in our group, was bored stiff by the airshows. How many times can
you watch a Sukoi or an Extra 300 do loops and snap rolls? We never
stayed for a complete airshow any of the 5 days we were there.

already committed as I understand it.

selling our D model coupe. We both would like a little more speed, and a
tailwheel airplane to play with for awhile.
> If any of you are interested in a good solid D model, about 280 SMOH,
great fabric on the wings, Valcom 760, Mode C txpdr, let me know. We've
done two extensive annuals the last 2 years, and the plane is in great
shape. Has a dual nose fork, new landing gear donuts, good tires, one
reconditioned cylinder this year, some new control cables replaced this
year, new side panel glass and a rebuild of the wings in 1992 with zinc
chromate throughout the wing structure.
> Haven't settled on a price yet, but if anyone wants a fine plane, let me
know and we'll talk about it.
