Amsoil and Mobil are both out of the pure synthetic aircraft oil business
...   They both still make good oil for cars...  As far as I know the best
we can do is Shell with their parasynthetic oil... It is part synthetic,
it's the one in the black bottle with the higher price tag...   Mobil got
in
trouble with theirs with Continental because of the extended drain time,
just wasn't doing the job in some cases...
Amsoil said they quit because of the liability not because of the
product...
All you said about synthetic oil is correct and it is a shame that we are
at
the place that car oil is better than aircraft oil for our little
jewels...
I am sure that approved 100% synthetic will be back someday..  If you do
find learn any news of anything being approved please pass it along... I
would like to use it... I had better make a note to say that I am NOT
using
car oil in my airplanes or someone will read that into it...
