Thanks to all for your great responses. And thanks also for your sources. I'll compare with the archives the "AirZoo" has when I get more time to spend on it. You've got me headed in the right direction. We're going to be quite busy for awhile"unbending" some airplanes. Noone hurt ortunately( except their pride) but the Stearman is totaled, and the wildcat has about 50,000.00 damage, both due to ground loops. This all happened a week BEFORE the airshow. Gladly, it doesn't happen often, but it does happen when a museum has "flyable" aircraft. Pilots for the aircraft are scarce especially since the "house rules" state that he/she must have 3000 hrs. min, and an ATPR. That eliminates some very good "Warbird" pilots that have never gone for their ATP. In my opinion, the ATP stipulation should be dropped, and "type certification" inserted. But then I'm sure they've had this discussion before. Both of these aircraft are "land em straight-keep em straight" aircraft, and in my opinion both pilots tried to "turn off" too soon, unlocked the tail wheels and the resultant "loop" occurred. Application of "brake" was also evident in the wildcat incident. I shouldn't even be discussing this here I guess, but I get really frustrated when beautiful aircraft, that have taken thousands of hours and countless dollars to restore, are damaged or completely ruined by careless pilotage. Sorry to have taken up your time on a non- ercoupe item. Doug
