I insure both the coupe and a Cardinal with Old Republic through www.skysmith.com . The liability for both is $505/yr for 1M/100k/12k and the air and ground hull on the coupe for $15k is $450/yr. As a comparison the hull on the Cardinal for $50k is $1066/yr. I found that hull on the coupe is more expensive than my former Taylorcraft too. Their explanation was that they are more expensive to repair. I am way ahead of the game in any case, I had a total loss 2 years ago on a Lancair that was insured for $30k when the engine failed. The payoff will pay my premiums far longer than I will be able to continue flying.
