Jerry, We have been with aig... underwritten buy Avquest, thru Shaw Insurance out of Sacramento. since 1989.
When N99893 went down... we recieved a call from AIG out of Chicago, the gentleman, told us to call any salvage com... and allowed us to place the plane in our hanger. We bought that plane back from them for 3,000.00 and had the other check for her in our hands in 72 hours. When N99893 was rebuilt the same insurance com.... that had totaled her reinsured her again until she was safe with the pilot over seas. Here, I read every word of a policy and then some. to not get into a hazzle with them. The policy is broke down and spelled out.... the pilot clause in our policy was one I had placed into it... It is there incase Wayne, becomes sick and isn't able to fly her home from somewhere... It reads much like a auto policy... where as while driving that car they are covered... same for our plane... the insurance on the plane goes with the pilot. for the coverage that is in the policy. The per seat is also spelled out... it is clear family or whom ever for the life insurance.... most are writen for each occurance as this one is. Every one should get into the habit of asking the questions that you stated.... and know what they want their insurance to cover.. Audean Woollard N6596Q
