I am sure the practical will go just as good. No, 5.4 g/h is not real good unless you were at high power and low altitude. I just got back from the Moffett antique flyin and averaged 5.7 g/h down to NUQ and back up to 9000' over the top of the hill into Truckee. And that was with the O-200 at 2550/2600 rpm, although I would have been lighter than you. If I recall you have the Stromberg carb and maybe the mixture control disconnected.
