I was reminded by Bill Coons recently of the importance of keeping the proper air pressure in the nose wheel to help prevent shimmy. I have experience with that. Too much air pressure, it will shimmy! Too little air pressure, it will shimmy! Exact recommended air pressure, it usually, re. "usually," won't shimmy. When it starts shimmying again, that's a reminder that I hadn't checked my air pressure lately. This is pretty critical with the single fork. I didn't look at the book before typing this, but I think I remember that the recommended air pressure in the nose wheel is 17 pounds.
