Good morning folks, In response to the communications around fuel pumps for Ercoupes My flight instructor (back in the late 50s and early 60s), once told me the exact vehicle that the Ercoupe shared the same fuel pump with. Turns out he was right except for one detail. There is no FAA-PMA number on the automotive version. The replacement parts on our Ercoupes should display these numbers in order to keep the airworthiness certificate valid. These numbers are stamped on the base (front) of the pump and can be seen (in most cases) without removing the cowling. The other side of the coin: they charge a lot of money for this pump (on the order of ten times as much) and it is just for the FAA-PMA number. I think that should be changed!! Keep um flyin safely Karl Nottingham Pa.
