Since I am the only one here who has had experience with a 45KT X-wind (at
least
who will admit to it)

Dave,
N99893 was left at Klone, Germany due to winter wheather catching it
before her
jorney was complete in to Russia.

She was turned over to the German Commercial Pilot who was also licensed
to fly
in the United States... since the plane was American Registered it was the
only
way it could fly in that country..

About three months later the german pilot, called us and wanted to know if
he
flew the ercoupe correctly... he went into detail how he took it off and
how he
landed it but wasn't quite sure if he did it right..

Went on to tell that he lined it up for the landing in a severe cross wind
and
the plane seemed to be coming in side ways..(giggle) he said when she
touch she
straighten out and went straight down the runway.

We, asked just how much cross wind did he bring it in at... his reply was
47mph. Our only comment to him was " Well you must of done it right for
you are
talking to us."

N99893 was about as orginal as she could had no rudders not even a radio..
Wayne, had rigged a portable mode C to get her into Kennedy airport and
then
with a hand held radio.

She held together and is still flying in Russia not sure of her tail
numbers
over there will ask Patty Wagstaff.
