The problem you are seeing is usually caused by not configuring
all the parts of the airplane properly. The Alon most definitely
does work, as do the add-in panels. www.flightsim.com has 
detailed instructions on how to set things up.

There are also some utilities there that will do it for you (a
wise choice for the inexperienced FS hacker).
