Rob there are several ways to do this SAFELY; One is to get an old VW jack and grind the square lift pin to fit in your knee pin onpening and jack away! another is to get a short piece of steel bar/pipe that will fit through the pin hole and use a good auto scissor jack on the rod/bar any of these work very well.
