Hello Dan,
Here's another area that I've been through, so I'll reply.

Q. Can the carburetor be removed without pulling the front cowl/nose and
prop? A. Yes, but it is very difficult to do. Not much room to turn
wrenches in
there.

Q. Are rebuilding parts still available for Stromberg carbs? A. We sent
my carb
to a shop and had it rebuilt, so I guess parts are available.

Q. Can the cowl tank be removed without pulling the entire instrument
panel, control column, and various cables/wires? Can just the yokes and
cables/wires be removed? A. You definitely do not have to remove the
instrument
panel, but you do have to remove the control column, cables/wires and
possibly some
instruments/radios.

Q. What is the best way to remove the wing tanks? A. This is easy.
Just remove
the fairing strips between the center section and outer wing panels,
remove the
wing to fuselage fairings, disconnect the fuel lines and unscrew the tanks
from the
center section spar flanges. This should take about 45 minutes per tank
at the
most.

Hope I helped.
