The real advantage to dual parity is the fact that you can double the number of spindles in a raidgroup without increasing your risk of loosing the whole thing. More spindles per raidgroup means faster IO. :> If you're using Netapps for mail, -always always always- go raid-dp with the largest spindle set you feel comfortable with. Without going into details, the FAS270's suck. I've heard Netapps' own techs refer to them as 'McFilers'. Go to the 3020.
