Okee-Dokee then... I respect that you don't see the need.

Please respect that I do, given that I'm planning to migrate
1500+ e-Mail accounts, distributed across 35 domains, currently
under Qmail+Vnailmgr (ick...again) to Courier.

The Courier virtual domains & users feature set is great! Really.
But, I must (really must, not optional) make this transition
as smooth for the subscribers as possible. This means that I
must allow for the notion of "bob" @someplace.com; and
another "bob" @otherplace.net to authenticate as "bob" without
adding @someplace.com, or whatever....because it would require
coordinating these changes with tons of folks. They will not
appreciate the exercise, and I will risk loosing customers.

[ By the way, are you somehow insulated from paying customers? ]
[ Just curious.. ]

Courier is so very close, especially with the database authentication
options that I just had to ask the users group about I.P. based
virtual domains.

If you don't see the need, then you don't see it.. Fine.

Anyone out there done this, or working on it?

Randy
