I had the same problem. Apparently no mail client conforms to
RFC2342 [1] -- at least none I would be aware of. I have tested Outlook
Express, Sylpheed and Entourage.

The solution was to apply a patch that adresses the namespace-problem and
changes the root folder to "" instead of "INBOX". If you are interested
in the patch, please tell me.
