Hello Marc, a "trick" to convince OE to accept self-signed certificates is to have a webserver with the same certificate on port 443. Then visit it via https, on first contact IE will notify you about it's selfsignedness, you click on "Examine" and in the next dialog on "Import", afterwards the cert is known to IE as well as OE.
