Thanks for the info.

However, that only takes care of the "automatic" emptying of
trash. What if I want to empty trash on demand?

And also, as it mentions, the below forces a stat() in each
folder, at login and logout, which is quite expensive, so I
opted not to turn on the IMAP_EMPTYTRASH
