One last thing I forgot to say about this patch. The main reason to use it is to be able to get the original filename back.
The unpatched reformime already extracts all attachments with -xPREFIX but it prints error codes and messes with the original filenames when and only when it finds repeated ones so you can't know the original filenames automatically.
The -u option solves the problem of repeated filenames and allows automatic filename discovery.
